What Lava feels like
Lava is the most practical high-forest base in this part of Kalimpong: fir, pine and birch forest meet a small but functioning town. Visit its monastery and Nature Interpretation Centre, watch for birds, and use it as the departure point for permitted Neora Valley plans or quieter stays in Rishyap and Kolakham.
